| This is a "Bàn Thờ" in one of my grand-Aunt in Phủ Thờ home. She is the 3rd sister of my grandmother (the 9th sister) on my Dad's side. I can't find simpler English explaination to call her appropriately but in Vietnamese terms she is called "Bà Ba"... Anyway, this Bàn Thờ is the in-house worship display of Buddha and our great ancestors. Notice the carvings and extensive engravings of the dark wood structures. This was done entirely for the ancient home! But over time, much of the nice work now only remains close and around Bàn Thờ shown in the photo only because lack of maintenance.
