The main road leading to Xóm Núi would turn left here at this intersection. Going straight down will lead you to the main paved road to Phúc Hưng Bridge and to Gia Rây eventually. This shot was taken just past the old highschool a few blocks length behind the view...
**Yes, the dirt road is really red....it's not my old camera that is over saturating the colors. I remembered it well that locals from these areas are easily recognized whenever they leave town to other places....because the fact that they all looked red from top to bottom...the color really gets to every part of the body...from the clothes to the hands and feet and fingernails...
During the rainy seasons, this type of soil will make up a sticky paste that will clog your transportation equipments to failure. I mean it....any transportation equipments you have such as slippers will get a very thick padding of sticky red soil that you have to drag along, then bicycle wheels that get thick padding all around until it can't spin no more...etc. The only way to deal with it best is to stop everytime you feel tired of dragging the thick pad of red mud around...use a stick of wood and pry off the thick mud pads from your slippers or bicycle wheels. :O)
